Little update..

Just replaced the front brake rotors for some stock standard ones (no slotted brakes lol), plus replaced the front pads as well with some bendix pads. The rears didn't need to be replaced as of yet, so I just scuffed up the rotors and pads to remove some of the shiny side.

About a month or so ago, we were hearing some grinding sounds coming from either the drivers or passenger side when turning right on a semi full lock. Plus noticing some other sounds as well. So myself and my brother in law did some testing to see where the noise was coming from but the problem was that it would only do it some of the time, most of the time was in Maccas drive-thru [emoji38] (dont you judge me!!). We thought it might have been either the control arm bushes or the bolts around the sway bar and suspension.

So we started to the drivers side first, tested the load on the control arm with using a crowbar and push up on the bottom of the wheel to see if there was any noise, all good no problems. Checked over all the bolts around the control arm and found that some of them were or have come loose over time so tighthened all them and tightened all bolts on the strut housing as well and then did the rear. Now started to do the passenger side, we tested out the control on this side and there it was, we noticed a noise coming from the control arm. As we started to remove the wheel nuts from the wheel, the wheel moved. Looked at the wheel nuts, and they were only finger tight. So if we drive the car any more or over time..we would have lost a wheel.

The last time we serviced the car, we always double-check and triple-check our work and make sure that everything is buttoned up tight. So we are shocked on how it would have happened, or if there was an attempted to steal the rims from the car but the license plates have been attempted to be ripped off before. So who knows.. it was an eye opener as well and a scary one.

Going to get some lock nuts this week... :drinks:

People can't have nice things.....

The car is now back to normal with all its bolts tightened up. Now the foz wants to stop with the new rotors and pads.
