Hi guys/gals took my baby 2001 gen 3 2.5i AUTOMATIC for a quick drive yesterday after tinting the lights , I did no spirited driving at all but after 20km drive, stationary at traffic lights I then go to take off and the car revved  out longer and was reluctant to change up gears and when it did it was quite a violent gear change ,it basically felt like I had been rear ended thats how bad it was, it was like this through out all gear changes 1st thrue to 3rd and the same back down again with reluctance to change down and when it did violent change down. I drove the car another 500mtrs to get it safely off the road, I checked the fluid level and it was beautiful colour/condition and plentiful. I waited 10 mins and drove the car again to decide wether to put it on the back of a truck and it drove flawlessly all the way home another 20km , drove it 60km round trip today no problems, Quick note no noises at all so no grinding or banging etc to be heard. So please after any diagnosis as car will be going to mechanic to get sorted just to be sure so do you think I will need to change the auto box fluid and the filter and siv for it, keep in mind my car is due for the big 200,000km service in 5000km so any info will be gratefully received,Prefer PM

Hi all thought Id better start a build thread, well My car is only a RX and only cosmetic mods done, Not really looking at engine mods , but anyway here she is warts and all my pride and joy,

Mods done:

WRX front bucket seats

New LED globes for Parkers and number plate lights,boot

Upgraded Narva driving lights

Lowered  suspension

18x8 Icon wheels

Tinted side and rear lights

Ezi Lip 

Front and rear guards cut and rolled

Good rear camber

carbon fibre wrapped Bonnet and interior wood look garnish

Black Plasti dipped front bumper and grill

Cannon sounds good a bit dronny at times

Alpine double din DVD player 6inch front kicker splits and 6 inch rear JL audio speakers , very rare JVC white 12 inch subs that flash blue with the bass all powered by 2 x sony 4 and 2 channel amps

Light mirror tint

Front slotted DBA t3 and rear slotted DBA t2 with ceramic pads and painted red callipers.

I think thats about it the car is immaculate as I detail it once a week . hopefully pics will will work

Hi all probably in wrong thread just after everyones thoughts. 

My other toy (2005 D4D Hilux) is sick CEL keeps coming on took to Toyota to read the codes 2008 pops up and they say "we've never seen this before) we will call you back, never heard back from them , its a bit strange considering they built the car, anyway 2008 = MAF apparently, got some maf cleaner seemed to work for a couple months now its happening 5-6 times in 5kms so rendering the car useless . Took car to my mechanic he read the codes and these popped up,

code 0607 =  thermo

code 1251 =  Stop motor

code  B2799 = Immobilizer

Doing even more research on Hilux forum other people had same probs  anything from a couple $$$'s to $16000 and problem not fixed, have in last 6 months installed 2 3/4 exhaust and last 2 months chipped it up.Removed K+N filter as we thought this was the problem.

So after any info regarding this as its as we desperately need this fixed, and no one can give a proper answer, so after all of your thoughts on this as you guys are very helpful cheers Sandy and please no Nissan jokes as this is the first problem in 222000 km
