Gen 4 GTB questions

17 September 2013 - 02:48 PM

Hi Guys,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on some questions.

Now that i have my wagon i want to fit a towbar so i can tow my box trailer. I am well aware that i don't want to drag the arse of the car around when towing. I want standard height springs and have been told from king springs that the KSRS-29 will sit the car around 15mm higher and are 20% stiffer in spring rate.

I did fit kings to my Gen 2 RX and it's probably one of the best mods done especially when towing.

My questions is has anyone done this with a Spec B and did the slightly stiffer spring affect the ride quality/handling much?

Thanks Max

My 07 Liberty Spec B GT Manual

Gday Guys,

The search is finally over. I have finally got a GT Lib. Very Happy! I was about to give up and and low and behold there she was. Basically a Stock Spec b but factory delivered with Sti rims and Brembo brakes 83000KMs 6 speed manual and Sat nav. 1 previous owner who bought as a demonstrator/personal dealer car.

Now the fun begins with small mods and little things to personalise it.

On a side note my Gen 2 RX wagon will go to my old man and I will be selling his 98 gen 2 Gx wagon with only 85000kms on it.

Also the B4 BBS wheels on my RX will be up for sale.

Gen 4 MY07-09 Liberty/outback

30 July 2013 - 02:33 PM

Gday Guys,

New member here in Sydney currently driving a 97 RX 2.5 wagon. I'm starting to think of updating to a Gen 4. I would like abit more power especially when pulling the trailer!

I do love my RX, its comfortable and handles well after updating shocks and swaybars etc but just lacks power especially off the mark, it is just plain slow...especially when loaded up.

I'm looking at updating to a Gen4 Liberty/outback MY07-09 looking at 2.5gt b spec/3.0 b spec wagon or outback 3.0.

I know the Liberty /outback are different in the sense of ground clerance but share the exact same platform.

Can people who have owned or driven these cars suggest pros and cons or what they are like as a daily. My misses loves the idea of a turbo( I guess can always upgrade turbo/tune for more power if wanted fairly eaisly?)

Is the 2.5 turbo the pick over the 3.0N/A or not much in it?

5 speed Auto/6 speed Manual much difference in performance reliability?

Is the extra ground clerance/height/practicality of the outback easier to live with day to day especially having a baby.

etc etc...

Thanks Max

p.s looking forward to going on a cruise with you.
