In Topic: The Coilovers Vs. Struts/Springs thread

I was in the same situation approx 6 months ago....

To sum up i installed BC Coilovers and i have never looked backed.

I use my car as a daily drive and travel approx 100km each day round trip to work and home.

Pros:
-Exact ride height to the mm and takes approx 1h max to change your cars height depending on what equipment you have (Very helpfull if you have wide rims/tyres)
-Dampening Settings are a big + as it take 2 mins to change your car from soft to hard, and if you have your car on the softest setting, the car feels close to stock, I personally have it 3/4 hard cuz i love the harsher ride = more of a sports car & +++++ on handling

cons:
- there are some roads in sydney that you will hate but to me the pros easily outweigh the cons

I cant really say much about the springs option, however if you do install lower king springs you will get a harsher ride then stock and your limited to 2 ride heights, Low or extra low. Also from memory I was quoted about $600 to supply and install new king springs only, im not too sure about the struts…….

Hope that helps

THIS. Exactly right !

COILOVERS!! i am soo happy with the BC coilover setup that i am running at the moment.

I love the fact that i can adjust my ride height to exactly what i want..and i mean EXACTLY (like 0.5mm adjustments if you want to get picky). Yes they run stiif but i honestly think it just adds to fun of having a modified car and if you want you can always just dial down the damper adjustment and its pretty comfortable. Other than that, compared to springs and with the combination of sway bars my car now runs like its sitting on a pair of rails.

My time at wakefield with stock suspension was around 1:21, with the suspension setup i can now push a 1:17 and thats only running kuhmo ku31's. So bottom line if your after superior handling i think you should go for the coilovers, and honestly they are not that uncomfortable...you guys are just weak :empathy3: and i drive everywhere !!!

Nice setup on front lip. Just wondering where did u get your front lip? How long did u setup and installed front lip. I got 02 RX LIBERTY, plan to install front lip as my first mod.
Thanks,

Hey mate, got it off ebay. http://www.ebay.com/...=item519b16717f

Basically, it took about 45 minutes. Id reccomend grabbing a mate to help you hold it in place.
  • Mark the center of the lip with the center of your bumper for reference and start there
  • Use some self tapping small roofing screws with pan heads as they grab really well and sit flush
  • Work from the center out, constantly bending and checking the lip is running in line with your bumper.

Yours is damaged?

You have seen CRUISN's thread about lip repair?

damaged is..to put it nicely, but its currently scattered along a 100m stretch of road outside of Cooma. I managed to hit a wombat at 120kph and he obilterated my front lip..put a whole through my bumper and popo out both my fog lights
