Idle air control valve no good?

30 January 2014 - 07:19 PM

Hey guys,

Finally found a place with a fountain of info, unfortunately for me it was a little to late..(hopefully not)
Before reading finding this site, I had been reading, researching, and playing in out in my head how to remove and clean my IAC valve. I finally had th courage to attempt it, removing th IC, TB, hoses, then the IACV.

All was good.. up until I saw a little beige looking bog.. I picked it off with one flick revealling a little hole!
After that I found a guide on here staying WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE BEIGE CAP! D'oh!!

This is my first Forester, using it as my project car to learn and educate myself (plus to save a ton doin it myself) and I must say I've had a blast learning about it.

Its an JDM Forester EJ20GDX1NY engine SF5A53P 97' S/Tb.

Question guys, is it possible to replace the beige cap on th bottom of th IACV? If so whats the best material to use?
Hopefully noone has done this to their IACV, any help/info from all you suby masters would be much appreciated.
If you need more info from me lemme know.

Thanks guys
Dre
