Topics I've Started

not starting, won't crank..

13 December 2014 - 07:01 PM

I've been having an issue for a couple of weeks now that's starting to drive me crazy.. The car is a 95 liberty with complete legacy TT swap done years ago..

The car will seemingly randomly choose not to start, will not get even a click from the starter motor, the lights on the dash dull when I hit the key but nothing happens.. Have had the alternator replaced with a brand new unit because the auto electrician I took it to thought that was my problem, was good for a few days, now it's back to playing up.. Attempted to hot wire it using direct power from the battery to the smaller terminal on the starter today and that also did nothing.. It will also clutch start fine..

At a massive loss here as I can't for the life of me work this out, will be pulling the starter out tomorrow and trying to test that..

Any help or suggestions (before I burn it) would be hugely helpful..

Secondary boost issues?? Help..

Howdy guys, need a bit of a hand identifying a problem I've been having..

The car is a gen 2 legacy tt swapped liberty.. What's happening is that occassionly it seems like I'm getting no boost from the secondary turbo, it seems entirely random sometimes it'll be brilliant others it'll be terrible and can go from good to bad and back again in a single trip, still has VoD, just no extra pull after it..

If I was to make an uneducated guess I'd be leaning toward an issue with the exhaust valve for the secondary playing up and probably not opening up the way it should..

Not sure what to start testing in the system (or even how) as I still know bugger all about these things..

So any suggestions, ideas or guides would help me a ton and be appreciated a lot, cheers..
