Sounds like head gaskets for sure. Yes it's easy to be in denial about it but you and up wasting time and money if you can't just accept it and move on.

Can do the head gaskets with engine in the car, but the issue is that you may need not only the heads resurfaced but also the deck of the block. Which is impossible to do when it's in the car...

Would almost be easier to find a non blown ej20 long block and swap it over. I'm sure you can find one for sale under $1000 if you look around.

I've had rims repaired before. Lenso ones.

Pretty soon after the repair the rim leaked right where the weld was.
Would have been better of sourcing amother wheel at twice the cost.

I had come across a cheap 5GEN one but would be pointless upgrading to that.

If you're not buying that one, how much was it if you don't mind me asking ?

I think they aren't exactly giving you a fair quote on that part.

I'd just buy a used one for under $250:

Otherwise if wanting to get it new, it's looking like you can find them from America for $700AUD.
Buy the part yourself and when it arrives have them install it.

Coincidence, I think yes.

Simply because one of the parts is on the top front of the engine and the other part is at the back of the engine.

They probably dropped the gearbox to fix the release bearing and wouldn't have had to touch the ac compressor.
