Hi guys, we're a few months into mum's new liberty. Finally got around to testing the eyesight system. To our disappointment, our tests failed. I used a long pvc pipe to dangle a large piece of cloth. We did a full frontal and an overlap test. With the full frontal, the car beeps and registers an obstruction, but does not apply any braking. The car just zooms right through the cloth. On the overlap test, the car zooms straight past without even beeping. Has anyone actually done a practical test and come out with some happier results? Eyesight is sort of the only reason that I bought the car for mum...

Just joined, so please go easy on me :-)

I recently got my mother a new MY 2016 Liberty/Legacy. It comes with the auto stop-start system and I thought I had it figured out. Basically, when your foot is all the way down the brake, the engine should shut off, and then reignite as the brake gets released.

 

When demonstrating how it works for her, there were a few instances where auto stop-start did not engage. I can't quite detect the pattern of when it works, and when it doesn't.

 

Is there more that the car looks for apart from just the brake pedal?
