EJ205 Outback

27 October 2018 - 10:51 PM

Hi,

I am looking at engine swapping my Outback 2000, have been looking at an EJ205 engine from a 99 WRX, I was wondering if this would fit straight in the Outback and if so then would it work with the stock Outback transmission and everything? Or would I need to buy more parts? Also, if it wouldn't be worth putting in, then what is recommended to put in to turn the car into a performance car?

Am wanting to engine swap as I love driving the car but unfortunately it has too many Ks to do anything to the engine (300000).

Any help would be great! Thanks

Add turbo or engine swap

I have a 2000 Subaru Outback with a lot of Ks on it... 300000 to be exact. Car runs completely fine, I was just wondering about a few things, first off, would it be worth putting a smaller turbo on it or has the engine done too many Ks to do that? Or another option was to engine swap it? I am not to experienced with engine swapping but was thinking another Subaru engine, maybe a turbo EJ20 or the engine out of the H6 Outbacks, am preferably wanting a turbo. Also, if I engine swapped with an EJ20, what else would I need to swap? Have a small idea but am not certain what Subaru parts work together... Am not looking at buying a new car, this car would just be for a build and something cool to have. Also, I was looking into buying an OBD II controller for it but have found out that they do not work in my model in Australia... If anyone knew what did work it would be great as I have an engine light that comes on every now and again and am wanting to check it out.

Thanks!

What parts can I use in a Subaru Outback 2000

02 July 2018 - 06:43 PM

I am looking at upgrading my Subaru Outback 2000 but am unsure what parts will fit it.

I have found a Subaru Impreza RS that is wrecked and am looking at taking the Wheels, Struts, Seats, Dash Cluster and Calipers and Rotors.

I have some knowledge that some Subaru parts work well together but I am unsure what ones work with the Outback...

If someone could tell me if they would fit well and if not then what parts would fit.

Thanks.

Upgrade current car or buy a new one

24 May 2018 - 11:54 PM

I currently have a Subaru Outback 2000, its my first car and I absolutely love it! Only problem is, it's not the best performance wise and it has done a lot of Ks... So I've been thinking for months now, whether to keep it and upgrade it so it's a better performance car, more so a sleeper type thing, or to just buy an entirely new car? I'm not sure what car I would buy yet but would probably work out to be around the same price to either upgrade or buy new.

If anyone could educate me a little in the costings of upgrading nearly everything on the car, as well as the interior it would be great!

Thanks
