fuel pump

25 April 2011 - 08:27 PM

hi everyone, i have changed the engine in my GenII liberty and i have a questions about the fuel pump,

is the fuel pump the same size in the GenIII RX (roughly 2000 model i think) EJ25 as it is in the GenII GX 1997 model with an EJ22 im sorry if this is a stupid question but i need to know.

also if anyone knows the part numbers so that i can get them from Supercheap Auto and how much that would be very helpful...i need one to suit the EJ25 RX engine

thanks,

Nick.

look after your keys...

22 February 2011 - 07:12 PM

Hey guys, i have decided to write about my annoying experience today, and in doing so raising awareness about how fragile our subaru keys are.
Today I drove down to the shops, got out of the car, and dropped my keys. Thinking nothing of it I went about my business, came back to my car and yep car wouldn't start and immobiliser lights were flashing at me. I looked at the key and it seemed the transponder in the key had fallen out.
I had to go to work so I got the misses to take me and left my car in the car park for the day. Because i stupidly dont have a spare key, during the day I went to Subaru spare parts and was told that a new key was $100 and I would have to get it cut, then pay a call out fee for the Subaru guy to come out and program it to my car, horribly frustrated I went back to work, and then this afternoon went back to the car. I rang the RACV and they couldn't do anything, so while waiting for the tow truck I had a really good look around. I couldn't find anything until I looked under the fuel cap lever and there was a tiny square bit of plastic, I thought it looked weird so I thought it must have been the bit I was missing, I put it in the key and the car started!!

it was such an annoying thing to happen, but it seems finding a needle in a haystack is in fact possible.

so the moral of the story is dont drop your keys!!

I just thought i would write this so that if anyone reading doesn't have a spare key, now they know they should certainly get one so that this doesn't happen to them!

turbo kit for gen 2 RX ej25

01 February 2011 - 04:35 PM

hey everyone i was hoping to get some information on what availability there is for a single turbo kit that bolts on to an RX EJ25. i put this engine in my gen2 GX after the timing belt broke on the GX 2.2L engine, and i was just curious as to what i can do and how much it would cost for a turbo kit for the 99/00 RX EJ25 engine we put in.

what will i have to do for strengthening?

any main issues i need to know/steer clear of?

and any personal experiences with turbo'ing this model engine would be great.

i don;t know a whole lot about the mechanics of this engine, but i do know the basics

(i'm only new on here so i hope this is the right section to post this)

cheers any help is much appreciated,
