In Topic: B4 turbos - what do i have?

So the final outcome here is that i got both the turbos replaced. VF 31 and 32 with VF 26 and 27.

Whilst i don't know a lot about the mechanical side of vehicles, having had the car for around 10 years now, i know how it drives; it all seems a hell of a lot smoother, gear changes are less jerky and it's running great.

Not sure if you can tell, but i have the old turbos from it, and i'd be happy to take photos of them if anyone was interested in having a nosey?

Sorry, i'm such a noob - i know that a VF32 is secondary, so should have known it wouldn't be able to go in the primary position.

I can get a brand new non-genuine VF31 for NZD$488 (yeah, i'm a Kiwi), so that might be my best option. Got a VF32 coming - Subaru genuine, and used, but supposedly from a vehicle with only 30,000k's on the clock.

So put a VF32 in both the primary and secondary positions?

^ Excellent - cheers.

That's where my thinking was heading anyway. Also getting some quotes for a single-turbo conversion, but at this stage, will likely stick with what i've already got. Will see how the quotes stack up and then make a call on it.

Thoughts on single-turbo?

I definitely have a VF31 in primary, it is the secondary that is failing.

Just so i'm 100% clear, a VF32 would be fine as a secondary?   The car has done 150,000km's - would you recommend getting the VF31 primary replaced too?

Edit; thanks for the response too - sorry, that should have been how i started this post  :)
