exhaust shop in brisbane

19 March 2013 - 08:48 PM

Anyone know, where we can get some exhaust system in brisbane? Im on a budget...sorry. Getting some, exhaust system or muffler tip for my gen3 RX.

Ive ring up one of the suby shops here in brissy, about installing up UEL headers + catback and the answer that ive got is im not sure about replica UEL headers (they are worried, that might bring some issues with it an even engine light & error codes on the car)
what tha?...mmmm, are they serious?
So, i just say thank you very much...

Does anyone know, exhaust shop that they did great job, doesnt rip you off, can be trusted, and a good price including labor.

uneven headers on 02 gen3 rx 2.5

13 March 2013 - 08:25 PM

gday,
I have some questions about uneven headers, and need more info before i decided to get it. did some research, but i think most of them here have experience on this setup/ mods & projects.
Aiming for a rumble noise with the legal sound of the exhaust.

here are some questions:

do you know where we can get some uneven headers? ebay? links? choices? i heard about borla replica headers, there are some good and bad reviews on it but will serve its purpose for the (rumble noise) also includes that later it will just crack some parts where it welded. is it true?

those 2.5 uneven headers, does it fit in? bolt in straight without moddifications, cutting and grinding? or do you need to do some DIY jst to fit.

Also, when you try to aim and get the rumble noise in RX, do you need just the uneven headers setup with stock exhaust with stock muffler, or need to have a catback exhaust with custom muffler also?

One, more thing...
uneven headers + catback exhaust with 4.5 xforce oval muffler = is it too loud? db?
(note: i think, 97db is the legal limit here in QLD - brisbane) is that right? mmmmm.

Sorry about the noob questions...just need more info/ knowledge on this. please feel free to give some advice, tips, the truth, ideas and recommendations.

thanks

wrx rims tyres specs fits in 02 gen3 liberty

06 March 2013 - 09:06 PM

Gday,

I just want to ask for a recommended tyre specs on this wrx rims (17x7 +55 offset) that later on will put it on to 02 gen3 liberty. i did some research and it seems that the stock tyres on this are 215/45 r17 some are suggested to go on 225/45 r17. At the moment, the wheels are had tyres on it but its 235/45..i think its too wide for the setup and might need to roll the guards just to fit in. Am i right?

At this stage, my car is pretty much stock including height, stock wheels...Later on, im planning to get some coilovers to go with the wheels, and want to bolt in, all in one job. A set of wrx wheels with new tyres and new coilovers...Plan is to lower the car (still in legal height) and with no scrubbage on the guards...is it possible?

Here are some phtos...

So, which one is to be consider to be the better fit onto gen3 liberty? is 215/45 is bit narrow onto this wheels/ narrow for the setup? do 225/45 is no issues at all when you lowered it? Does anyone have issues on the fitment on those tyres on to the wrx wheels?
which one you prefer for the wrx wheels?
Sorry guys, for the lots of questions...i just need to enlighten myself on this  ...I am very open for any advice, tips, suggestions and ideas on this.

DIY gutter rash, buckles/ bend rims

10 January 2013 - 11:08 PM

gday, i did managed to score some WRX wheels in ebay few weeks ago. Car is writeoff. the cost is not much...really cheap. Wheels are really bad, and lots of gutter rash, bends and buckes. It looks sh*t...im not sure if i could fix them up myself...DIY. all wheels are has been wash and clean, the only dissapointing is that lots of gutter rash. Just want to ask, if someone did managed to fix their rims/ wheels DIY. i did some research on what and how to repair the wheels...but most of them, advice that need to go to a wheel repairer/ wheel fixer. But as far as i know, they will charge u heaps a fortune. i Might do it as a last resort, but for the meantime ill stick with DIY.
Any idea???how to fix. or need some advice guys.
Thanks,
rad

How to...setup and connect hella super tones

02 December 2012 - 09:45 PM

Hey guys, does anyone tried to setup and connect the hella super tones on their gen3 lib RX? How did it go? Query, on attaching it to the radiator brace. Is it need to undo all the bolts from the radiator brace ( front) so that i can undo the bolts that were connected to the stock horns. or needs to be pull the whole radiator off? I did take some photos ( stock), I'm planning to DIY this coming school holidays...I've check, also that the horns attach with bracket, is not enough space at the back to undo the nuts. Any ideas? Is there any how to...on this, with setting up with hella tones, photos included would be great.
Thanks,
