The last owner seemed to think he was the master of DIY. I would think it would be a massive job to change the whole dash, is it not worth repairing and cleaning it place?
Cant really be fixed. Too many splits, snapped mounts and wrinkles to bother.

Thats what i was thinking. Got a good DIY to go off so how hard can it be. Better to start fresh than to try and fix the shit storm

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Productive day was productive. Pulled the dash from the donor. Was pie except for the 2 bolts holding in plain sight under the passenger airbag, popped right off once I undid those. Then pulled my dash which flew out as we'd just learned how to do it.
Laid them out to compare looms to make sure it wasnt going to involve a reloom. The donor dash has 1 extra plug, Im assuming its cos auto

Thankfully I didnt find any surprises and used the opportunity to chop out some wiring/alarms/sensors that some absolute hack had installed

Done
. Had 2 issues that weren't issues in the end. When we first put it back in there was no fan, swapped the HVAC computer over and still no fan. Got back into the donor and looked over all the plugs around the heater core and fan. Thankfully it was just a big black plug that my assistant forgot to plug back in, good help is hard to find lel. Also had to swap back to my old headunit from the GX as the loom was wired for a sony headunit. There is some gremlins in there as the head unit has no constant power. No biggie. In the process we replaced every missing screw and bolt and fixed up a few rattles I had. As a result the dash fits together perfectly, there's no tears or splits and no rattles at all. Also got a new centre console that still has the nice crisp stiff action on the console lid. Mad
Thank you Joss for your parts bucket and help. Even if you missed that plug
. I think this car is finally un
d from its previous owner

Sweet work.
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

Awesome. Looks like the beasty is getting boost finally! Give it a birthday before you put it all together though. Looks like a fresh lick of paint on the manifold and clean up some of the corrosion on the alloy will make it look even sweeter.
Thats the plan. Loads of time till i get of P's so will be schmick when its ready to go in
