Hey guys

In the process of a rebuild and retune by these guys

I've seen a lot of good word about their workmanship but have been struggling to find anything on their tuning

It's a 2008 spec.b GT if it makes a difference

From what I have heard, they outsource their tuning which is road tuned... No dyno tuning

Nice work man. Keen to see how it goes once all the work has been done.

ADS? If only rexnet was still up so you could read the negative comments about them. GL with the build or whatever you're doing.

They're the characters that used to sell their "hybrid" rexy (and others?) gearboxes on egay. Some bad stories. They're engine re-builders now?

Between Newcastle and Sydney you couldn't find a builder from the dozens of known shops? Or were these guys the cheapest?  Do they have the rep of the known performance shops?

They're not the cheapest at all

My dad's a mechanic and they were highly recommended by a few contacts of his for the rebuild, I couldnt wait months for ichiban or MSR
autocraft in newcastle were going to do a second hand engine or just a standard ej257 replacement, then I'd have to get a retune anyway and it would have been more hassle and work and probably more money for me and I still would have been no better off
These guys are doing everything dad even went in there to check everything out and he felt confident

It's getting an ej257 short block with cosworth pistons and bearings
New belts, plugs, water pump, oil pump, engine mounts, seals and gaskets, reconditioned heads plus anything else I probably missed on the thorough list
Which is probably way overkill for what I have, but I want to be sure I have a reliable car that won't be breaking down

Then it's getting a run in dyno tune from JEM which from what I've seen and heard are one of the best in the business

The only negatives I've seen about ads are they are overpriced, but they were on par with the rest of the shops I enquired with

Price is the only negative thing I have heard from them. Whether that was a bias opinion or not is a whole different matter. I haven't dealt with them directly to have an educated opinion.
