actually pretty close, carsales used to be accross the road from my uni, i only recently learnt that they moved. do they have a careers page?

Tough choice Ty. Can you calculate how much you would be spending on travel (train+tram) and if it's worth the extra $2-3k?

Not usually.
If it's under warranty still you may be in luck but it will probably be a return-to-base warranty...ie. you'll be without the laptop for X amount of weeks while it's being repaired.
HP have done a bunch of pretty helpful "Self Repair Services" intructional video's to help users do shit themselves.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.
