Morning guys!
I found out why the B4 is smelling like coolant!!
Hairline crack is the fuggen plastic radiator top tank thingy:

P.S. the rocking horse is watching you.
Anyone replaced one of these? A bloke at work with a WRX had a crack in his and he said it was a couple hundred bucks to replace.
I tried to Waltsfix it with some super-glue, which held for about 2 minutes of driving until it heated up and split again.

Just buy one of those welded aluminium ones they make, I think it comes in cheaper than buying a new genuine radiator. Piss easy to replace - piss easy.

Weekend still going for me, good ol' Monday's off, although must pay rego today.
Know the feeling, started mine 2 weeks ago, just been getting eating pattens and healthy food in order,Health regime begins today. Hectic.
no more ciggarettes, and at the moment its no booze either
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

id see if it could be plastic welded ????
That's what I was thinking. A bit of Chemi-weld might fix it up until pay day.
Ok Josh, what one fits it?

Replace radiator for an exchange basis with a shop.
Less headaches that way later.

Mmm hopefully we won't have to find out!
I will fight for it if anything does happen.
Only condition is a 5000km oil change/standard service. I can handle that for 12 months...
Manual for shiz!
Is this the warranty that they give you a blue book with it and you have been given either A,B or C cover?
i know blue book so descriptive... my car came with that... was worthless soon after.
no way in hell was i going to pay for my car to have an oil change done every 5000Km's at one of their "authorised service centres" at some stupid price of between $150 and $200 just so my warranty would be valid.
oh and at 15,000kms you have to have one of their "premium services" which is almost $500 for what i do to my car every month anyway.
and if you miss a service by even 1km bang warranty void.
Don't get into the mindset of thinking its got a warranty Morgsy... they will find a loop hole in 90% of situations..
really its just a marketing tool.
but it looks like a decent vehicle... also what's your laws like in NSW regarding statutory warranty on 2nd hand vehicles bought from dealers?
in VIC its under 8 years old and 160,000k the car has a warranty that if any problem is found to be pre-existing then the dealer must pay for repairs or can choose to refund the car.
i know this because my car had 161,000k when i bought it..
On another note...
New car RUNNING!!!!
drives like a dream... so smooth, quiet, comfortable.... why is my car lowered with and exhaust:ph34r: the new one runs beautiful!
all that's left is to find a Radiator bleed screw so i don't have to steal mine all the time... AGHHH going to have to buy from Subaru i think.

Knowing the B4 though, the radiator wouldn't be anywhere in the books and would be some expensive order that has to come from Japan.
Does anyone know if it shares the same radiator as another model?

but I agree with Alex, take it to a radiator repair shop... they would be able to do something for you, a lot of them can custom make what you need anyways.

There is a book that they had 'run out of' and are sending it up asap. I confirmed with them that there is no km limit where the warranty runs out and the only condition is the service every 5k.
The thing is, because it gets driven to the station and back every day, 5k usually takes 6 months which is when I'd do the service anyway.
I dont have to take it to a recommended mechanic - I can use any one I want.
It doesn't cost me anything to have the 'warranty' and I would be getting services done every 6 months anyway so it's no loss to me.
