I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. instead of renting and paying a trillion dollars for rent, why not buy something (dare I say) somewhere more affordable?

I don't want to buy just yet.

I mean, i could, but don't want to. Looooooong story, but it doesnt fit in with my plans for at least another 10 years.

Hmmm...neg geared investment house/apartment? Rent from that plus tax break on both you and girly will help you break even.

I'm getting a massive farkin house loan as soon as I get back in a better tax zone, Darwin is the shiz for me, get sweet fcuk all tax, plus a remote allowance.... looking at maybe $250k with a $100k deposit, might have to moonlight at some mines during my leave to get that big of a deposit.

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

Yeah, i was thinking that mate, but again, doesnt really fit in with my current portfolio because i'm already neg geared, and get some pretty hefty tax advantages.

See, around here, a 3-4 bedroom house is at least $800k. Not nearly as generous situation with the tax breaks either.
Plus, i don't want to get into a bucketload of debt until after i travel.

I'm pretty sure you get an allowance from the ADF if you purchase a property. I know at NAB, we do Defence Force Loans, in which the ADF pay each person a subsidy amount directly into the loan, so yeah, might be awesome for you to do.

Def hit up the mines for a bit. One of my mates went to the mines and cleared $150k in 1 year, then bought into property.

Is that guy still around... I try not to judge, but he made so many wrong turns he pretty much ended up at square 1 with -$20k


Yeah we get some alright opportunities Shaz. NAB are good, they do the ARMY boys round here, to be honest our banks DefCred and ADCU can't offer competitive rates. Mines are insane, even just exploration on untouched land is good coin, hoping to fit a bit in soon.
