don't think it is same as Gen2, does B4 have pull type clutch? if so i think, from looking at Jesse' over the weekend they are slightly longer than gen2

Does anybody know if the Lib B4 clutch hose is the same as other Gen2/3 libs/GTB or even any rexies?

Why braided?

I have been having problems for ages with my clutch, it has been replaced and not long ago so was the slave and hose,
and things still are not right, was thinking for a bit it could be air in the line but the system has been bled so many times,
thinking the hose may be expanding hence the braided line, but now im thinking it might actually be a problem with the master cylinder

A clutch would not generate enough pressure to expand the line like brakes as they have a different hydraulic ratio and are unboosted.

I would think master.

Check that the adjustment is correct.
It should have about 5-10mm of pedal freeplay to allow the piston the retract fully. If not the compensating port may not be uncovered.
Basically you end up with a crappy pedal and no amount of bleeding will fix it.
If you get under the dash and with the clutch pedal fully released, you should be able to rattle the pushrod between the pedal and master.


Or the master is shagged.

Thought the cable probably was not the issue.

The bite point on the pedal keeps changing from close to the floor then right to the top, which then makes the shifter go from a solid feel to me thinking im about to break something and sometimes almost having to force the shifter into gear.

I had a quick look at the push rod the other day and it seemed solid so it now sounds like its the masters time to be replaced.

Anyone selling one cheap cheap?

Your symptoms also match that of a poorly adjusted clutch.
May still be the master (after all it is a Subaru!) but adjustment is free.

If you need a new master, go see Stuart.

The cable is 'Hill Hold'.
I assume B4 has it like the RX.
