I have no problem with it, I will do what has to be done to fix his car. I already told him that. However from the very start of it he has been dodgy about it. Claiming I moved his car I hit it so hard. Also yes I have called my insurance company tonight, and they will be looking into it - I am just concerned that because it happened in a carpark, they may not cover it through some weird loophole - $2.5k is a hard hit right now.
I do not believe he is insured - he has not once mentioned insurance to me, and sounds in his 60's. But I have clearly stated that I do have insurance, and will use it if we need it - hoping he will give me a fair go - because it cannot possibly be that bad with the damage done to my bumper.
You're making an assumption about my personality and I don't like that, been through it already today with this guy assuming I did a hit and run. My father has spoken to the police (that is how they contacted me) and the police here don't want anything to do with it, the officer basically told me to pass my details onto him as quick as possible, and I did that as soon as I got his number.
You're making assumption of me.
I don't like that.I don't assume anything of anybody.
i just run with what you tell me.
rule NUMBER ONE: ASSUME NOTHING. It's the mother of all fudge ups.
Every bastard out there is going to try and backpedal out of anything in terms of an accident. No one will be honest unless you have them by the balls.
It's thousands of dollars we're talking here. No one is going to give this out by feeling generous or good willed. We live in a shi77y world. This is why we have insurance. To protect ourselves from scumbags, no matter how well you perceive them.
I hope you don't have to learn the hard lessons.
Perhaps you do.
Who knows.
