That really is a cool and funny story. I've never seen one in the wild, only at car shows/museums.
I'm not sure. I see what you are saying, but it really is still the same thinking as it's always been, people want to have their latest F1 technology in the road car that they buy from F. The 458 probably has more than any other Fcar. Also, a lot of people with a boatload of money cannot drive, you can't buy natural talent, so a driveable super car is becoming very demanded - that's half the reason I think the Gallardo from L has done so well.
Can never have too many poll threads.
Thats true most modern cars like those are bought by fat middle aged gits who cant drive, i prefer the older cars like these, they had more style..

Yeah mate, he was/is. Loves it. If I can be critical about it all - Pulse are now charging too much IMO, more than MRT.
?? they quoted me about $500 less for a full dyno tune at pulse then what they did at MRT for an off the shelf job?
or are you talking parts?

Initial tune on factory ECU was charged @ around $1200 I believe. Plus a service. Plus brake pads.
I am not doubting their work and the quality of it Josh, but far out I would not have been a happy chappy paying that much money.
Well.. Something is effed on my car. Had a strange metallic type noise like tick tick tick but high pitched - happens when I turn to the right and on the throttle (when I back off it stops), and when I turn left it stops. I had Jim Hunters suspension poke their heads under and they told me steering rack bushes and a control arm bush on the right was gone and needed replacing. Noise has now gotten louder and there is a metal CLUNK that I can feel coming from the left front wheel when I turn right... the drive home from my mates place tonight was a long and easy one that's for sure!
Gonna get it all sussed out next week - be curious to know what it is, it almost sounds like a brake caliper floating around (don't ask me how I know what that feels like).
In a way I hope it is and hope it is not "Lucky you brought it to me when you did, any more driving and x would have fallen off!"
I had this about a month ago, Turns out it was a bad wheel bearing.
But then it got worse, the noise i was hearing was the old wheel bearing eating through the metal of the hub.
Hope you find out what it is mate.

There's been an Austin A30 sitting in my G/parents (Dad's side) since before I was born. I fell in love with it when I was bout 8 and have wanted to restore it ever since...
so does my old man...
but we have a problem...
my aunty who used to own it before selling it my GP's (bout 30yrs ago) doesn't want anyone else to have it so everytime the rest. subject gets brought up they argue over who should get it but because no-one can agree on who gets to restore it, it just sits there.... what a waste.

Eh. Nasty. Do you know what's wrong with it?
Cheers,
Yeah my "soaz"(?) muscle. Apparently its the only muscle/ligament that actually joins your upper body to your legs, roughly goes from your tail bone to your lower abs and down into your thigh. I've hurt it a few times before but this was the worst, kept goin into spasms...
Sorry to hear about your back Buzz.
I know what you mean about looking after it. Definitely a lesson for all.
If your aunt sold it, how does she now have a say what happens to it?
Whoever in the family is most qualified/likely to restore it should get it IMO.
Family politics............yep sux.
With me it's my sister and brother inlaw, and the way they handle my nephews eating disorder.
Grrrrrr
Cheers,
I can't figure out how she gets a say either, nor can I figure out why she doesn't want us to do it. Dad's wanted to restore it for ages and I've got 2 brothers so that makes 4 mech minded blokes who want to do it (plus my sis, she'd have a go)... she's got 3 daughters, none of which are into cars, don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to figure out who'd be better off with it!
TBH honest I don't even care who gets the thing in the end. I just want it going!

lesson to you younger blokes:
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BACK!
It's not fun feeling like a cripple @ 26!
I've learned that the hard way too. I've got a slipped disc and arthritic changes in my lower back, featuring some nice sciatica down my left leg.
Getting out of bed in the morning sucks.
