I just ducked out to the local Coles to get something...spotted these two cars:

The second one looks a lot like a former member of this forum (Adam) but I think he sold it to someone else...

Really? The rule of an/a used before H is up to the pronunciation/aspiration of the word following. In this case, in the queens english, we would pronounce the H of HSV as 'ache', thus making the usage of AN HSV a perfectly sound application.
Thanks for stopping by and having a go at me though. Most appresshiattod.
English as in the language we speak, not the country. Americans will often refer to 'an herb garden' - because they pronounce it "'erb". Strange but true.
Like I said, it depends on the pronunciation/aspiration of the particular word in the local accent being used.
stop rounding up, you're in spearwood
Hahaha, I appreciate both the Fremantle dialect comment, and the rounding up from Spearwood comment. In equal proportions.
Haha. Nice.
I will answer your questions with a story.
You're answering your own question with a story.
What should I do this weekend?
That takes me back. I used to have a friend who concentrated extracts from a very special acacia tree to make a substance called DMT, some of you may have heard of it? Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) is a powerful psychedelic drug, a type of tryptamine alkaloid. It is a naturally occurring substance, found in various plants and animals, and in small quantities in the human brain, where its function is unknown. DMT is famous for its power. Though the psychedelic trip it creates only lasts 5 to 30 minutes when smoked, the effect is profound and remarkable, with the feeling that the user is transported to a completely different place, immersed in kaleidoscopic sounds and images. In its pure form, DMT is a white to yellow crystalline solid.
And that's why I can't look after youth group camps anymore.
I think mine is funnier. Your pic is OK, but mine is funnier.
