What does every think of Goran's B4 (from ozliberty)

Im not a fan of the rear (take that however you like :sarcastic: )

+1.

I also think he's asking abit much despite the mods.

EDIT: hm, just noticed its dropped to 28k.. still reckon it'd be a tuff sell.

I think it might be worth it if it was around 24k, and if he removed those awful pedals and gear knob

On top of an engine is really a stupid place for anything that should be cool though,
but subaru have stuck with it

Because it's cheaper and easier to Build/Design. Not cos it works.
If it's broke use a cable tie.

I've alway been lead to believe it's because for their (Subaru) purpose (rally) a FM would get smashed quicker than Jemma Jemison on a porn set.

Here's a couple of pics for Walts...

*EDIT* gay arse mofo comp taking to long so no pics

it works perfectly fine. as proven by many setups. wrx/turbo subarus are known for their throttle response/punchy turbo feeling. the piping on the top mount is waaaaay shorter than a front mount.

OK, it only took me a page and a half to work out what TM and FM meant. :scratch_one-s_head: So majority rules on the 2003 MY03 still needing an ECU tune... cost? $1000-$1500? Exhaust - would the upgrade preserve the motor or is it purely a power/sound issue? cost?? (no idea) 2.5" is recommended for B4's isn't it? TMIC - Cooler is better B) - cost? $600-$1000? That makes it a bare minimum cost of around $2,000 without upgrading the exhaust... far out.... Has anyone gone bankrupt maintaining a Subaru?? If I'm able to get it/one, I feel an immediate garage sale coming on.... Anyone interested in a 2007 SRV Fender Strat? To Answer your questions:
a) Exhaust - Not essential. But is desireable. Ideal is 2.5" from both turbos, to merge together into a 3" cat, 3" resonator, and a muffler
B) Yes, you can find often S/H ones.
c) Yes. I've spent over the purchase price as my Subaru on modifications. :) But I love it!

dont think it does mate. similar setup to the GDB sti coolers (except bigger and a better y-pipe design) and i know they dont fit the B4.

You possibly already have these in your short list Chadza... (super expensive though) :scratch_one-s_head:
Hyperflow TMIC $1190 kit
Hyperflow TMIC $1140 kit

The difference of $50 is in the material/finish - Cheap one = Powder Coat Black, +$50 = Polished Intercooler.
Both seem to have the same write up other than the finish:
"The Hyperflow B4 TMIC Kit comes complete with Intercooler and bolts up to factory mounting points and twin turbo setup. The Hyperflow Top Mount Intercooler (TMIC) for the Liberty B4 was developed to provide outstanding performance to standard or upgraded vehicles. The Hyperflow TMIC will support power levels beyond 240kW (320hp), while providing increased power to standard vehicles by dramatically improving air charge density and reducing pressure drop.

The application of the Hyperflow TMIC on standard Liberty B4 vehicles is particularly important in hot conditions, with heavy loads, which are typical of Australian conditions.
• The Flow area is increased by over 75%
• The Heat Rejection area is increased by over 320%
• Construction process utilises our fully machined 6061-T6 Aluminium Billet end tanks with high flow; perfect fitment and perfect finish
• Use of High quality bar and plate intercooler cores is mandatory
• Professionally polished every time
• Easy, bolt on horsepower Installation "

so this doesnt come with a splitter???? you wont get the full potential of the cooler without a proper splitter to maximise airflow on the cooler and provide a positive seal.

That seems more than a little counter productive doesn't it??????? Provide a bigger surface area only to exclude it by using the STD splitter/duct..... :scratch_one-s_head: :scratch_one-s_head: :scratch_one-s_head:

The std splitter, stanley knife and some tin snips (sharp scissors would do as its only rubber) did a pretty good job for me ;)

Here's a different POV

http://www.webwombat...ts/1_08_sub.htm

As stated above it comes down to individual preference but saying that its breathless from idle is ridiculous...

ATM I get boost from bout 1800rpm (7-8psi) @ 2700 rpm I'm getting 17psi... it feels anything but "breathless"... and mine still needs a tune.

And here is another, http://www.fantasyca...4_rsk_1999.html

I am thankful somtimes that i live in Ireland because we don't get the temp extremes that you guys do so heat soak and pinging are not really big issues that would effect me as much as you guys. My car is a JDM RSK B4 model and they do have a different tune to the Aus delivered model but no pinging so far thankfully..
I am still thinking about getting a bigger top mount fitted though, just having a few problems finding one because over here if its not a rice Honda or an Impreza its quite hard to find aftermarket parts because the B4 is pretty rare here.
