Just checking who out here has, owns or like boats. Ive always liked boats over cars but it's hard to find fellow mariners to go boating with. Me and my mates usually head out in Sydney Harbour, Pittwater or Akuna Bay into the Hawksbury & even up to Brisbane waters (central coast) I'm always looking to head up the coasts around Tuggera Lakes or Lake Macquarie or even down to Sussex or Jervis Bay. Mainly flat windy rivers. I don't do much fishing anymore just skiing or flat out running. Just really looking for locals who know the local area.

I got one, only a 13ft Haines hunter with a 65HP evinrude. Nothing fancy but it'll pull up a wakeboarder and someone riding a boadyboard, so that's good fun :) I was out nearly every second afternoon after work during summer, best fun

I've been meaning to take my brother fishing on it but haven't got around to it. I live on lake Mac and I certainly won't be moving far away, got 5 different boat ramps in different spots within a 5 minute drive so no matter what the weather is doing theirs usually a good spot :)

I love boats.

Never have owned one, but dad had one or two back in the day.

I know nothing about boats either. I know, helpful.

I can swim though.

I would like to own one one day, but in the meantime, I'm playing with Subarus.

I like wooden boats.

With V8 engines.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Used to have a great boat, (well dad owned it) only i took it out more often than he did. ended up selling it after replacing all the internal tanks and most electrics as he thought it was 'too big' for him to launch by himself (altho i had no problem :-P)

now i have a tinny-run a bout with a 60hp Black Anchor (Merc) altho this used to be our work vessel (Salvaging/ underwater work) so it is not the prettiest thing. just means i dont need to cringe if i hit the boat ramp or sand bar :-P

I'll be living down near Jervis Bay later this year, and then up near Watson Bay next yr. Out on the water a lot. Might see you there.

i dont have a boat in sydney but at my parent house we currently have a lewis with 308 in it, 10ft tinny with a 15hp, and a 38ft cat with twin CAT Diesels

i used to live on the central coast so we went out in tuggerah lakes all the time, ski'd and hooned around brisbane waters too as we moved to woy woy
and then we moved to forster so i know my way around smiths lake and wallis lake, myall lakes also

used to go fishing all the time but havent lately at all, mainly just go out for a ski, wakeboard etc, the best fun that can be had is just a surfboard behind the boat

also went out a few weekend back into sydney harbour as my uncle just bought a sea ray with a 350 in it, was awesome to get out in sydney harbour as ive never been before, within 10mins of being in the water at drummoyne we were under the harbour bridge :)

Stats:
Built by hand 1964 by my grandfather and his brother
Motors:

318 Hemi with six pack carbs - too hard to tune

Current: 1974 Corvette 350 Chev, 4 bolt main, balanced, blue print, port & polish, twin straight through 2.5" exhaust

Current status: In desperate need of some loving

My brother also has a Williams Walkabout in pieces, in it's former glory:

The important parts: 305 chev, as can be seen in the foreground, in the background is his current distraction.

We're in Nowra, less than 10 mins from the river, no place I'd rather be, well except for a river front property in longreach ;)

BaronVonChickenPants makes an appearance!

My father in law built a luxury 40ft house boat a few years ago. It's a time share thing so there are heaps of owners who take it out for a week during the year. See Riverboat

Pretty fun to go out on for a few days. Putters around Brisbane Water, The Hawksbury and Pitwater

F.U.K yeah. A house boat is mad as a home front on the water. Pull up anchor and just head out from there.
