My question to you guys is this;

I'm not sure we're the right people to ask Shazstickles.

Did you buy it private or from a dealer?

It's probably worth making a phone call to a lawyers office just to find your rights and where you stand with things, even if it cost you a few hundred bucks for the advice.

Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Shaz, that's seriously screwed up. Definitely get legal advise about this.
You've done everything right, got your REVs cert, insurance, rego, etc and you haven't repaired a write off.

Yeah. Legal advice is the next step.

The guy from the fair trading is saying that when the car was written off, it wasnt insured. So because it wasnt insured, the insurance company is unable to notify REVS that the car is a write off, and it has been sold at an auction house to someone, who has fixed it, and resold it.

Farkers.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Does anyone know someone that works at an Auction House of some sort?

I need to find the internal process they use to determine whether a car is a write off, and if so, how they register the write off with the RTA.

Id just pay for legal advice, and put in a civil claim against whoever in the process did not do their job.

So we have the Fair Trading investigator contacting Pickles Auctions in order to find out their internal process for notifying REVS of a car being sold as a repairable write off. I think somewhere along the lines, someone has bought a car asa repairable write off, and the documentation required to lodge the information of the car being a write off has gone *missing* and someone has fixed the car, and resold it as a normal car.

Also - Apparently this car has been linked with a team of people who have been under investigation for a few years now rebirthing cars, originally from Victoria, then sending them upto NSW to be reregistered. I'll keep you all informed.

Nothing. It has fairly high kms but it's in great condition.

In uni holidays he works for a wholesaler friend (same guy I bought the SSS off). Went to the auctions the other day and came back with an Outback!

You seem to be keen for every car. Then you never buy anything.

Haha yea the guy he works with is very car-savy. Checks absolutely everything.

Never thought I'd buy a car without properly looking at it and test driving it, etc but that's what happened with the SSS. Turned out to be an awesome buy!
