How is it that i pay 100 bucks more for my car insurance than my mate who is 2 years younger than me!! Mine is 10k value, his is 20ish on an 05 xt foz

I was very surprised with the insurance premium on XT Foz'.
Get this. My Outback is currently in dads name because it was the cheapest when I was living at home. Last renewal, I paid $700 for 12 months cover.
When I first started getting interested in the Foz', I got a quote in dads name and it was $650 odd!! In Katie's name it was $800 odd and in my name, $1300 or something stupid!
For some reason, Forester's seem way less risky than a Outback, Liberty or WRX. Even my dad pays $1100 or something for his rex... that's a 47 year old male who hasn't crashed a car/made a claim in 20 years.
