Did you know, the 01 B4 had 190kw out of the factory while the 02 and 03 models had 176kw?

They cost $55k brand new...!

WHY???

190kw is manual, 176 is auto.

2001 was manual only. 2002 and 2003 had either manual or auto.

Mine says 62k in the dealership book, with options and on-roads.

Why? Because it's better than a Forestor. :D

It was exactly the same price as the 2001 STi.

Was a semi-rich businessman car.

Think about it, it would have been the equivalent to the Gen 4 GTB, and they were that price.

You the second owner?

3rd.

A doctor owned it first.

For about 6 years. He was a B4 fanatic by the looks of it haha, have every single review of it in the car, in news paper clippings and 2 magazines reviewing the B4 in them.

A 30ish year old bloke owned it for 2 years, who did the tune and exhaust etc.

Then me. Had it for 2.5 years.

Orly?

I drive TDi's frequently and find them very different... Manily because mine doesn't sound like a truck :)

It's more of a helping turbo :P

Still fun though.. Can't wait to get it lower and less boaty

They still feel a lot more agricultural compared to the WRX's and STi's of the same era.

Drive a stock STi of the same year as your Forester and then report back to me. :D

Wow, Walts story is much like mine, owned by some old dude until 135k, previous owner had it for 20k as a weekend toy, and now me. Mine is the Auto '176kw' of course, optioned with a tow bar, tints and possibly its cruise control. Hauls arse nicely, for what it is. Makes the ladies swoon, and most people say 'holy shit' when I push the loud pedal hard enough.
