Going to buy a new battery for the Liberty this morning. How long do you think I should charge it before use? Give it 12 hours or something?

Goto a battery place like... i dunno, battery world... a place where they sell just about every type of battery ever made... they come already charged and ready to deliver some cold crankin' amps

Going to buy a new battery for the Liberty this morning. How long do you think I should charge it before use? Give it 12 hours or something?

Charge time will depend on how flat the battery is. This can be done by measuring the specific gravity of each cell using a hydrometer, then compensate for temperature either side of 20deg, then look up the CCA rating and divide this by 40, then set the amp rate of the charger to ..........

......just turn the cnut on.
max of 10 hours




Or do like I did and get one of these

set and forget.

Will charge then switch to float, so you can leave it on for ever and always have a fully charged battery.

Has been sitting in the Lib unused for about 4 months and doesn't hold a charge any more so id say dead dead. Got a new one now, and a new battery bracket (yes Walts).

Now to sell it.
