What does it mean when the rear left suspension starts to creak?

Struts? Springs? Bushes? How do I tell?

I'd say its the top of the spring... could be a bush but I doubt it on a car that young. A ball joint went on our 4x4 and made a nice creaking noise.

I think Josh is correct.

Common fault with that generation Forester.

I would check your bushs, also check the swaybar bushes, if they are dry (especially with nolothane style) they will creak their faces off.. bit of rubber grease shuts it up.

Got a lift kit for the car....

Then proceeded to try and locate the exhaust leak... I went from under teh car to the engine bay (using process of elimination)

Had to pull out half my intake... This was the last picture i took because i soon get very agressive and gave up.

By process of elimination i have discovered that the leak is coming from the top of the cat, where it joins the pipe that goes over the Xmember... Now because the exhaust hasnt been touched in 13 years and it all rusty i could not undo the bolts on the cat... I used every tool i had to try and get it, but i just couldnt fit a big enough ratchet between the firewall and the engine, without removing my brakes, clutch, intake manifold etc.

So i have given up and im gonna call the exhaust place and ask how much im looking at to replace my gaskets. The last thing i want is a leak while im going for my P's, because the bloke who does the testing can defect a car... Even tho it passed road worthy like that, i think it was a dodgy road worthy.

Oh, i fixed my dash lights tho... turns out there is a dial on the headlight stick that dimms and brightens them :S

@ Josh, thanks for approval of shed size. I meaured it. 7.5x7.5m!

@ Jase, it's not a very pretty shed, hence the reason I measured it! Want to see how much the aluminium cladding is to match the house.

@ Morgan, could be the sti struts and their need to be re greased

@ Ren, LOL at the light dimmer. I await for your "I cleaned my car and now my parkers won't turn off! :P

/Brett.

GT is hard to keep up with when you have a house!

It's fibro and some panels are cracked/missing and damaged. It's a one day project. House things get priority!
