I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Nah, just I've driven down to work, and it's raining. He normally walks.

But waking Alisha up at 630 or whatever is not a safe move.

You don't count, you're nocturnal.

Are you working normal people hours for a couple of weeks?

I can't imagine how much you'd get paid on graveyard over a public holiday... you could just about buy some shares from Ren?

Whatever floats your boat.

Sometimes, paying a little bit more to help support your local business does count a little, especially if they're providing you the convenience of stocking the product for you instantly, and offering you a receipt in the event something should go wrong, on either your or the retailer's behalf, and providing you a complimentary exchange service.

Customer service.

Google it.

I get what your saying (i work in retail and know my economics and shiz) but im not kidding when i say they want $280 for some generic brand solid rotor and $120 for a pair of pads, And thats the back 266mm not even the front 277mm.

I have already asked around (Even in townsville) and thats why i had those ones on ebay in my watch list for the last couple of months lol. It appears i will be going slotted.

Some places make it very difficult to stick local.

My local bottle shop gets a certain drink in because I requested it. They said it's actually been popular. Went in the other day and found that they'd put the price from $6 to $7.40 - telling me that their supply cost has increased. Twenty minutes in either direction and the same can be had for $6 still.

Agreed. I'll stay local, if they give me a reason. But if it comes between supporting me and supporting them. I'll support me!

@Nik, yeah they love doing that. Except here they dont know math so they just put, Y x Z = A
(Y = Cost price, Z = Usually 1.6-3, A = Sale price)
I have worked in a couple of places in this town and have gone through their stock prices/cost, and gotten my mates to do the same. And when i can buy stuff for the same price they can... In the words of Adam, I'll support me.

You have to remember that buying power is a significant factor. A small, family run bottle shop (let's say) can't bargain or beat down prices like a Dan Murphy massive chain can. The idea of selling something cheaper than what you bought it for is completely impossible to swallow as a small retail business. Coles/Woolies do it all the time.

They're even at the point now that they make a lot of the alcohol they sell for christ's sake!!!

Nik, totally understand where you are coming from. And it sucks for the small guys that it has come to this point.

We try and buy from fruit shops and shit when we can. But they aren't open at 6:00 when I get home!

In the end, the $$ talks. Especially when the person doesn't have much $$ to spare!
