Reposted due to being the most epic of epic posts.

One day I hope to enough of these epic sport sedans restored to race trim and entered in historic events.
You can keep your V8 Super Cars, these things make the ground shake and require balls of steel to drive.

Frank Gardiner's JPS Chevrolet Corvair

Posted Image

Norm Beechey's 350 HT Monaro complete with 4 side draught Webbers. Currently owned by David Bowden, QLD.

Posted Image

Don't know much about this one but Grant Walker runs/ran a sucessful Ford wrecking/spare parts business here in Melb.

Posted Image

Peter Manton's 1969 Camaro. IIRC was a Volvo dealer here in Melb.

Posted Image

No idea on this one but would like to know who's is the LJ Torana next to it.

Posted Image

Bob Jane's. Not owned by a mate, he owned the Group C car.

Posted Image

Allan Moffat's. IIRC this was pulled apart by Allen as it proved slower than his Mustang. No longer exists.

Posted Image

Jim Richards Sidchrome Mustang in the background. I think this was originally built and raced in NZ.
Looks like it may still have the Kiwi plates still on it.

Posted Image

Also owned by David Bowden, QLD.

Posted Image

Allen Moffat's Chevrolet Monza.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Found this on the link you posted Nik.

Bathurst 1969.

Posted Image

Saturday night I was chatting to the bloke in the middle of the three, Ian Tate head mechanic for HDT to 1975.
The bloke on the left is Des West (looks like mafia!) and the grey haired bloke is a dead set living legend, Harry Firth. Still around and 94 years young.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Random fact of today.

I'm related to Des West.

Semi..

He's my brother's uncle.
My brother's got a different dad, half brother.

So not blood related, but yeah my brother was telling me about him the other day!

Get out of my thread.

@Jase: Going by the picture it says that Rover was owned or driven by Jim Smith.

Glad you enjoyed them, you go through much of the link? Those photos were around page 27 on the Sport Sedan forum, and there was a truck load more!

Yeah, Peloton25 is active a lot on TeamSpeed, linked me up to that earlier.

It's not inconceivable that at a 'Toyobaru' special event, the Subaru driver would have a lot of 'credible witnesses' backing up the claims.

I know that's how track days work. Everyone welcome. But it does seem a tad irresponsible to have such a huge disparity in power/speed on the track at the same time.
