Smoke on startup?

1. Went for a holiday over christmas to see the inlaws, and left my baby parked up at home for approx 10 days. When I got back, the following morning I started her up to go out and on first firing, I had a small cloud of blue smoke out the exhaust. Any ideas?
I'm suspecting a very small leak on one of the turbo bearings as the culprit, but this is the first time she has done it, and it was parked for a lot longer than she would normally be, so I really have no idea...
2. Also, when its a cold morning (in the vicinity of 0 deg), she also has a hard time starting. Takes about 10 seconds of cranking before she will fire, and runs awfully rough (talking 3 - 400rpm rough) for another 10 to 15 seconds before the cold start revs pick up. Only when cold, both engine temp and ambient. When ambient temp is higher, there are no issues.
I know these questions are going to be pretty damn hard to answer, but please, if nothing else, give me a few ideas to chase down.
Cheers,
Ben

Not real convinced that its condensation, only because the blue smoke thing has only happened once (and condensation happens every cold morning), and the white cloud of condensation doesnt go away after a second or 2. I should mention that when I started her up, she fired first crank, and ambient temp was about 30 deg.

Sounds like oil mate... blue smoke... is it only on start up, and goes away after a few seconds, or does it happen while driving too?

Just start up
Should be ok if it is at just start up... try letting your car idle(cool down) a little after a fast drive of boosting... maybe wait 30second? Then turn the car off... See if that helps.
I know my car smokes on start up if I start it up even hours after boosting like crazy and not letting it cool down before turning it off...

Yup, and let us know... I read that if you see a puff of smoke when you hit boost when driving, then it could seals on your turbo...

Things that quickly come to mind...
what oil viscosity are you running?
what oil brand? oil not overfilled? there is 2 oil full marks on the oil stick(well on mine there is)....oil cold and oil hot....
how often are you changing oil?
have you tried UEC(engine upper cleaner) to get some of the crap out?
cold start issues? what fuel are you running? is the car tuned? if so maybe injector latency, scaling needed? cold start tables need tweaking? enrichment tweaks....etc etc..

Is anyone experiencing this problem after they have parked on an incline?
When i had my Legacy, if i parked facing up or down a hill, i would get smoke on start-up. It's from oil getting in the combustion chamber and burning up. Never happened when parked on a flat surface.
Also, allpaw, you may have a dicky coolant temp sensor. Had the same problem with my Gen1 conversion, bitch to start in the cold but higher temps wasn't a problem, swapped out the coolant temp sensor with a better one, solved it.
