To be completely fair here, Morgan. The BBC is the media, and one would have to look at the motivation behind the BBC TopGear producers alerting the Australian 'paparrazo' of the evenings plans - I would hazard that a lot of people that didn't know 'TGUK' was in town, now do.

Maybe it was restaurant staff? But I doubt it. They've far more to lose than gain in this situation by being found out.

BBC and Clarkson have just gotten an absolute bomb of free publicity for something that UK people will see as him being in the right over, and most Australian's don't care, and Australian TGUK fan boys will undoubtedly side with the poor, oppressed and targeted 'star journalist'.

Media have had a good week though of blowing things out of proportion and the like.

look at the story of the guy who got allegedly mistreated by the cops at the Mardi Gras. the first day of that every media outlet was on it carrying on about police being heavy handed and calling for investigations and the like.

a day later, new footage comes out shows the kid punching and kicking the cop and going off. can see why the cops reacted the way they did when confronted with that.

but like you say Nik, its free publicity for the top gear boys now, effectively just put massive promotion on their festival this weekend in Sydney to get more people to come
