I don't know how much more of this shit i can take :( My Engineer obviously lied to me about putting my car on his 4 gas analyzer...Failed RTA Emissions...day off work for nothing and back to square 1 again :dash2:

Damn Engineer's... tricky little bastards

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

do you have any proof from your engineer to say that he did put it on his gas analyzer?

if you do you have evidence to go back to him and claim damages so to speak and make him accountable

I assure you I will be talking to him first thing tomorrow morning...arrived at his shop at 5:15pm this arvo and he had bailed...FFS, the MAIN reason he wanted the car before I went to Sydney for the Emissions, was to avoid this exact situation...I'm really not impressed.

At least everything else has been cleared, Posted Image that sucks man. I'd hate to be in your situation to be honest. I had a similar thing when I was re-registering my VS Commodore. It had a 3" exhaust and the bloke wouldn't pass it because the exhaust was too big, even though the rest of it was 3". I ended up changing the tip to 2.5" and he passed it, no problem. <_<

Name & Shame!!!!

I will have a chat to him and see what he says...If you look in my 'intro' thread, his name appears already. It really isn't gonna get me anywhere in my time frame though and that is what boils my blood the most...I have done EVERYTHING in my power to make this happen on time (Rego expires 13/03) but now it's out of my control again...

Can't you get it fixed and go again as soon as possible or is there a time frame that they have provided you to come back? Or do you have to book your car in?

i know the feeling all too well mate unfortunately. story of my industry and job lately. do everything possible to make sure things happen on time and to plan, but then one thing comes up and stops you dead in your tracks (and in my case can often leave you copping it off a client)

i have unrealistic deadlines chucked on me daily. ie today at 1pm getting an urgent request from a client, to get one item to canberra by tomorrow, with the highest importance and priority, and that it was essential that this happens.

Garry!, need to re-book the emissions test and take another day off work to do it...test aren't actually available very often at all.
I will no doubt need a big arse restrictive Ceramic core Cat converter...and to ACTUALLY have some one give me an idea on a 4 gas analyzer if I'll get close once that's installed...all this takes time to arrange and, most importantly, more MONEY. I am so close to being genuinely broke now from trying to get this car sorted that I'm not sure how I'll go...
I still need it engineered too :D I have rego for 9 more days...then it's permits...Problem is, you can't get an ACT permit that allows me to drive the car IN to NSW...so car trailer to the emissions test if this all can't happen prior to 13/03...which it most likely can't.
I then need to get it re-inspected at the ACT test facility AFTER all this has happened, with my Engineer's certificate in hand...PRIOR to 19/03 (1 month after initial test) or I have to get in 'inspected' again, as opposed to re-inspected :)
You can see how much fun this is going to get from here, yes?
