I'm pretty sure unless they are actually broken, $60 speakers aren't going to be an upgrade to the stock system.

Hmmm they aren't broken, but since the headunit is aftermerket, I'm thinking there is too much power running to the front speakers now, which causes distortion at mid-level volume... or it any bass comes in...

I figured out half the rattle from my stock speakers is my door trim lol. The fronts are both on their way out though. When I get some spare cash with nothing else to spend it on, I might get in there and change them. With some sound deadening. Maybe even a proper subwoofs for the boot, removable one though because heavy. Unfortunately poor because we're moving house.

Yeah I wlll take the door trim off one weekend and check out if anything is loose in there, but I know the speakers need to be changed... so might get those pioneers from JB sometime and see how they go... I'd love to upgrade the deck too... its aftermarket from when I bought the car, but I don't like it very much

It's not difficult at all. After you do it the first time, you'll know how to do it forever.

I also want to make a good under seat mount for the amp. I want this install to look super clean.

Headunits are pretty cheap. Depends on what you want out of it.

I love my current one. Its a Sony Digital Media Player. Just does Bluetooth, BT Audio, Radio, USB and Aux in. No CD at all.

Yeah I think the guy just dropped a cheap sony deck in the car... not cool... evem the facia doesn't seem to sit properly, but oh well.... what can I do... of wait... I could mount the nexus 7 I got yesterday in there.. LOL! one day...

For now yeah I'll just get a simple deck, needs CD and USB and radio... plus I have to try to connect the aerial in my B4 to the deck, coz now I don't get radio in the car since aerial not connected

Yeah, the trims are piss easy to take off, I have had them off before in mine.

Yeah I think my passenger trim is missing a clip, so might take a quick trip to wreckers to see if they have any clips for the trim... if not, who cares, I'll live...

Honestly you can pick something up for around $100 that would do the job.

Just when your hooking up the aerial you might need to get an extension cable for it.

Thanks man... yeah I think that will be my next purchase... some 6" speakers and a good simple deck... with the B4, the aerial is a little weird... need some other plug for it, but we'll see.. should be fine.. thanks mate
