6 Houses lost on Sunday to bush fires some near Port Stephens and some near Kempsey.

I had a leak and thought it was the rocker cover gasket but it turned out to be the rocker cover bolt gromets. It was a simple and quick fix.

 

You should try to degrease the rocker covers & heads this weekend.

 

It very well may be the rocker gaskets but if it turns out to be just the gromets I have spares which I will bring and we can whack those bad boys on in no time.

 

At least we will should be able to find where it's leaking from the fresh oily bits.

Will get it a spray with degreaser this weekend while I'm doing the oil change... leak is on the passenger side...

Emergency Warning - Hank St Fire (Heatherbrae) 17/10/13 15:36 Posted: 17/10/2013

An Emergency Warning has been issued for the Hank Street Fire in the Heatherbrae area.

Current Situation

The fire has breached containment lines under gusty winds.

Properties around Tomago Road, Cabbage Tree Road, Barrie Close, and Williamtown Drive may come under threat.

This fire is burning in a south easterly direction and has crossed Cabbage Tree Road, heading toward Fullerton Cove.

Cabbage Tree Road is closed between Old Punt Road and Nelson Bay Road.

Nelson Bay Road is closed between Vardon Road and Richardson Road.

School students who live in the Williamtown and Cabbage Tree areas are being evacuated to King Park Sports Complex - 23 Newline Road, Raymond Terrace.

Smoke is also visible from the Newcastle CBD.

If your plan is to leave, or you are not prepared, leave now if the path is clear.

If the fire impacts on your property take shelter to protect yourself from the radiant heat of the fire.

Mates dad lives there and just got evacuated. I still have my one tonner bonnet there. But really hope they arent hit with any damage. They have put so much time and money into the sheds, and belongings in the shed.
