GS500 motors are the same today as they were when they first started making them. Read: Lots of spare parts around.
Good price too.
They aren't the fanciest bikes around but a really good learner bike. Can't hurt at all to go see it and have a putt about.
Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Well that's the problem, it's nearly 3 hours away.
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

There are others closer to home but no where near that price.

Id honestly rather pay the extra $2k for a brand new one with warrenty. Providing you could get the same deal as amsy.

Yes I got caught out by the chain and sprockets, and now the tyre. But it had over 12 months rego, and was the best available on the weekend I wanted to purchase a bike
@mark, 2k is a lot when you also have to purchase gear and insurance!
There was an 09 on eBay in vic somewhere I saw last night with 30k and he wanted 4200. Prob able to jegotiate

I paid 4200. Tyres aren't bald. The rear is just old and probably out of date. Front is brand new.

Im not saying dont buy a second hand bike, but if you can get a brand new bike for $6k ride away and you plan on keeping the bike for a few years the not even $2000 difference is pretty insignificant over the time period

This is what I was weighing up too.
Pro's: New tires, new chain/sprockets/moving parts, warranty, 12mnt rego, peace of mind knowing previous owner hasn't smashed it.
Con's: $2k more.

I may end up doing the same as Alex, having a daily and a weekender, or potentially remove rego and learn to ride on a track.

One thing you should do, Ash. Is get at least a helmet before the bike!
