if you are going to by an XV why not buy a holden volt over it? evidently more fuel efficient than an XV since it doesn't use fuel....

If you're buying a brand new car, I don't think you're too worried about one cost of 1000km trip ;)

Is the XV that ecenomical anyway?

What has buying an XV got to do with fuel efficiency?

Because it's the best thing since sliced bread.

I don't believe in that hybrid/ pure electric bs

Buy a small diesel car, they are getting sub 5 litres per 100 figures. your not hurting the environment much more, probably less.

Cant see how it could be for an engine of that size.

It is AWD and has a frontal area the size of a small block of flats.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Is it really worth all the techniques and dribble to save yourself probably the price of what your going to spend on your first lunch stop?

I think not. Just drive sensibly, nuff said.

This guy knows what's up ^

Buy a hybrid if you want economy. I had my work prius down to 3.9 on a Sydney trip once.

Or a Golf TSi, similar economy haha.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Recently went to surfers from home. Around a 500km trip each way. Had fuel economy of just under 7l per 100km with the air con on, it thought this was pretty awesome for an ej22 with UEL. Best method was stay around your 100kmh speed and use gradual acceleration opposed to mashing the loud peddle when an overtaking lane comes up. Have had even better fuel economy on a trip to sydney once.

thanks everyone, i am a P plater so i will be setting the cruise control to 90 - 95, lol yea if i could afford a new car i wouldn't be to worried about fuel on this trip haha after all im only bringing in those woolies cheques hahaha, i hate tail gaters and give trucks the room and respect they deserve on the road, already got a crack forming on my windscreen from a stonechip from a passing truck.

also i pumped my tires up to 38psi, the tires say 44 max, should i be pumping them up any more? or is 38 a good spot?
