Yep quite a few people I know (including myself) use it however its days are numbered. Facebook bought it a few months back so I would guess it will slowly be merged into a Facebook app.
I'll keep using it till it's well shit though. It does ok at the moment.
Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

Google Hangouts (which is already on your fone) is good for anyone else with android phones. Basically what WhatsApp does, uses data instead of SMS.
Depends anyway, I'm almost always connected to WiFi if I'm home or at work so any WhatsApp or hangouts messages I send are free.

Like so you can't be searchable and you can't receive messages or friend requests from the public.

I have it set to the strictest shit man. It's not so much people finding me.
Deleting people or 'unfriending' them will cause much more chaos than me deleting my account.
WhatsApp you can make it super strict.
I like GoogleHangouts, AMS.
