been happening a bit lately.

Funny (well, not really) mine's been doing that a bit lately too.

Something to try - going into the video output settings and forcing it to 720p/50hz. What brand tv do you have? I think mine is fucking up because it's trying to negotiate a screen resolution. Forcing the output res seems to have made it happen less often.

Also try a different HDMI cable and/or different HDMI port in the back of the telly.

I'm just reading now, with my tv (panasonic) they can have HDCP handshake issues which cause the screen to fuck out pretty much how i'm seeing it. Changing cable if you're using a real cheapo hdmi cable, or changing hdmi port might fix it.

You are using hdmi cable yes? Not composite?
