yeah - i went and got me one of them facny funnels at autobarn so will try it again - i think i need to flush out the heater core too - any diy's on that?

however - after a couple of days it came back - think i will do it again and up the revs a bit and run it for longer or do think i have a leak somewhere that is letting air into the system - i can live with the noise as i dont really want to spend $600 having subaru take off the dash which is what they said they would have to do as they didnt know what was causing it

Morgan - i drove it up onto the pavement to elevate the front right hand corner - truned on - heating up full - just let it idle for 15 minutes - revving it a couple of time and topping up - worked a treat thanks so much

Morgan - thanks for this great post - i have the same problem and have just been quoted a large sum of money to remove the dash and fix the problem
- as a noob can i ask a dumb question - why the clamp on the tube?
