Hey Guys,

So been on the look out for a set of moonsoons for B4  for a while.

As I was browsing through Import Monster I came across a set that I happily won and paid for straight away. They send them via DHL as they were too large for the other methods, which was fine. I received them within 4 days which was too awesome and i was wrapped.

But then to my luck, when i opened the packaging. I discovered that one of them was snapped in half and the other one had a crack on the inside :( i was shattered...

What do i do here? who is responsible for the damage - Import Monster or DHL?

Cheers.

Not good! That's a fair amount of damage.

First people to contact would be import monster asap and let them know what has happened.

Id tell IM but there is inherent risk in shipping fragile things you might be out of luck. I know import monster returns your money if you dont get the item but not sure about damages.

I would give them a call.

If something is damaged in transit doesn't the courier company have insurance to cover those sort of things?

Did you sign for them?

If you did, 9/10 times you have signed to say you are happy with the package.

I always make couriers wait for 5 seconds these days.

DHL. Chase it up with them, but definitely let the team at IM know as I'm sure they'd like be made aware and will assist you any way they can.

As per Cam's comment, the signature agrees that its delivered in good condition. Technically speaking, you're suppose to open the item, inspect it and then sign to say that it is OK. But who does that, right?

Shame about the Monsoons... :(

FFS. I had them delivered to my work so the receptionist signed for them on my behalf, i didn't even get that chance to inspect them till i got home.

I just gave them a call and guy i spoke to was very keen to help me once they get to my email as they're short staffed now. So we'll see what they can do.

But definitely shame, they're rare and now this happens :(

Negative... And even if they can get them, they will have to source them from Japan for about $450 lol!

That's one of the reasons why Benny down at Ichiban doesn't get them in anymore. Too fragile.

I was lucky enough Mark sent me one down and it didn't break. Problem is that they get old and brittle from the sun, only a slight knock and they break.

If you saw how some couriers and truckies handled goods, you'd be pretty upset.

Why dont you just buy them new from your local Subaru dealer ?.

About $170 odd bucks and still available for most models

I cannot imagaine you landing them for anything under $100 so your wasting your time with second hand sun bleached
old car parts .

No way for brand new @ $170... Otherwise I would've just bought them.

But I called them and emailed them again today so I'll see what they come back with.

I'll call Subaru tomorrow. What exactly should I call them? Weather shields?

Sam might be able to help?

Why talk the talk and not help members out? If you can get them for approx $170, great. Help a member out with obtaining a set. OP is in Melbourne also.

FYI, My s/h Gen3 set was $121 landed in perfect nick with all clips. Ive bought 5 sets s/h from Japan and never got a "sun bleached" set.

I think they were available for like $270 a set when I tried towards the start of last year.

I'll double check at work tomorrow. But, normally after 7 years accessory production is ceased. So may have been left over stock in Japan..

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

If Samwise has access to Subaru Fast he should be able to see Inchcapes OZ stock.

Can't use FAST to check stock levels - especially when Dealer Connect (the thing you actually use to check stock levels) has dealer pricing on it aswell.
