Hey guys,

Currently doing an oil change and I seem to be burning an alarming amount of oil..

Any ideas why?

How much?

If you were burning it though the turbo's or engine surely you'd be noticing it out the exhaust. Blowing blue smoke wwhen you have the right foot into it?

My b4 takes like 4.5 litres. ..

So what distance driven made you lose like 3 litres?

You also need to check under the hood every few weeks....

it would be game over if there was only 1.5 litres in there (so I doubt that is correct).

Jack it up on an angle so the sump plug end is pointing down

Only drained it when it was sitting level on the ground so that could have something to do with it?

But yeah that's what the oil catch pan indicated..

Do you check the oil level every few weeks or so?

Fill it back up to the correct level and monitor it.

5k seems pretty frequent. Id say more so dependant on driving conditions.

I do mine every 6 months/10k but dont thrash the car and majority is freeway cruising.

I do all my cars at 5k, always have.

The Subaru's get a semi-syn oil as well.

The delvac dance?

As for driving conditions a lot of it is in traffic as the car is my daily.

Currently has fully synthetic 10w40 Nulon in it, but yeah I'll try every 5k from now on I think

I get mine changed along with the oil filter every service, but I do check and top up if necessary every now and then. I'm running Penrite oils.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

How many k's Patty?

High km Subies love Delvac.
Mobil Delvac MX 15w/40 truck oil.

I use it, change every 5-6k.

Cheaper too. $30 @ Repco with VIP discount.

Awesome.

Low K's.....

Maybe try a new oil before switching to Delvac.  Nulon 5w-30 is good.  Mine liked it.

Just monitor it for a bit to see how much is being lost.
