So I'm making a custom gauge pod for my Gen 3 Outback. Made it to hold 4 gauges (just something different from the usual 2-3)

Just thought it would make for an interesting topic to show off and talk about what gauges and brands you have and why. Or even ones you wish you had.

As for me I'm looking at getting Boost, A/f, Oil pressure and Egt. Not sure on brands.

My bad if this has been done but I couldn't find one.

In the foz i've got a Zero Sports center gauge pod with Defi Link Boost, Oil Pressure and Temp.

IMGP4009.jpg

Currently in my lib i've got some weird molded center pod with Autometer Digital LED Water temp, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp and a corner pod with a Turbosmart Boost Gauge.

lib_zps4d655eec.jpg

(sorry shitty pic but you can see the centre pod back there just lol)

BUT I'm getting rid of that whole set up around to it. I've alread got a Defi Din Gauge set with Water temp, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp to go in the upper din slot and a defi racer boost gauge which i'm just going to mount in a cup in the corner/pillar location

How come you're running oil water temp and oil pressure. And not an a/f. Why doesn't anybody run a Egt? Wouldn't mind hearing why one would be better than the other. Just would be good to know so I can make a better decision on what I'm picking.

argi those Prosport gauges look good. And they're a lot less expensive than a triple Defi setup. And they're BF too?

aek does Defi add anything else or do you pay for the brandname?

PS. Krypton great idea for a thread :thumb: I have a triple-gauge pod arriving from JP in a week or two

Aek you sure those din pods fit the gen 2?

I checked the specs on an eBay din slot and it wouldn't fit

If they fit I'd like one too

Plenty of good arguments for both wideband or EGT. the reason i don't is i only have room for so many gauges and consider the ones i've got fine. My Forester is lightly modified on a mild tune so i'm honestly not to concerned about it. i really don't need any gauges on it but the one i wanted most was oil pressure just in case. Oil Pressure saved Andy recently where one of his oil cooler lines ruptured after rubbing on the control arm and was dumping oil on the freeway. the rear of his car was covered in oil but at 110kms he didn't notice his gauge dropped and he stopped to see what was up.

If i want to know how rich my cars running i just look in the rear view mirror when i get on the loud pedal ;)

I'll probably get a wideband for my Liberty at some point

i'm sure its a bit of both. i can't comment on prosport as i've never had them (imo just by looking at them you can tell why they're $100 a throw and cheaper that say defi's) but i've got autometer in my liberty and they're absolute garbage. they look cheap and aren't entirely accurate so i'm happy to pay for defi. i don't think its so much just paying for a "brand name" but paying for a brand name i TRUST.

haha i hope so. i haven't tried to fit it yet but it says its for GD Subaru.

Just infront of the gearstick?

The little flip up lid

Some cars just have the pocket there, no lid
