pics are now up still have a couple close ups of the suspension so i can find out what they are. mechanic mate looked at the clutch fork today just from top and his pretty certain that the "clutch/gearbox problems" its having are just that, so hopefully get a few mates around to get this box out somtime this week, argh having a broken finger sucks when doing this!

You know what is really sad about this situation, you damaged the front number plate, seriously man, what were you thinking ;) That clutch does look a bit **damaged**, makes you wonder what the gearbag is like if they did that to a clutch, I would be pulling it down by default anyway. Regards Paul

LOL yeah my reaction time was too slow so the car stoped when it hit the whinch not when i pulled the brake on lol...

the oil seemed fairly clean, there was a few shavings, didn't seem anything too major, i guess while its out may aswell open it up and have a peak inside :)

i'm kinda hoping the clutch took all the stress and hasnt done any serious damage to the gearbox, or i might be looking at a halfcut sooner then i was hoping

and to sooper paul, the way it got explained to me was if you have one part moving at 7000rpm and it comes into contact with another part thats not moving thats alot of force or somthing or rather i cant actually remeber now.

but your usually right, either way car isnt going anywhere anytime soon :(

Yeah, but; A: Ej22 can't spin that fast :P B: The torque generated by the EJ22 even at 6000rpm is far less than the equivelant turbo motor, and i've seen and done worse that that to them. Something is amiss in the gearbox I'd dare say.

Oh well, take it apart and have a look. it's your project car, not your daily driver so there is no rush. also, i lol'd at the septic water comment.

i've had an ej22 spinning at 7000rpm ;)

could it even be just a fault in the clutch itself?

well it runs out of rego in august so i wanna have it done a bit before that

back from the dead, clutch plate went mcfucked because the pressure plate had a few bent plates causing HORRIFIC clutch shudder, found a clutch plate spare at home so i tried it out lol. ended up putting that engine in my car and not worrying about it until this weekend... as much as i wanted to do a turbo conversion and make it a track car i dont have the funds available just yet to do it :( with the help of my little brother were making a paddock basher or gonna try khanacross at a local track. currently interior has been striped out and i've pressure washed the inside so its nice and clean, have bought what seems like a good ej22 with clutch, so that'll go in, have some RS front brakes with slotted rotors. got a set rs rims and tyres and very very early wrx rims and tyres (15") should have fun times thrashing it ha ha will get pics up soon
