Hey guys,

I'm after advice on what's causing my gear indicator (the digital green 1->4 on the cluster between the PRND321 thing and the open-door indicator) to show the wrong gear?

Gearbox works fine. All shifts are smooth, and 1st through 4th drive perfectly.

But on the indication side...

1st gear:displays fine

2nd gear: displays fine

3rd gear: doesn't show up. When I downshift from 4->3 the green number goes from 4 to 2 (but gearbox correctly shifts 4->3). If I downshift again, it still reads 2.*Very* rarely it'll indicate 3rd properly, but I can't correlate any weather/oil temp/driving style/conditions to when it works properly (5% of the time) to when it skips showing 3rd. When it works properly, it'll work from engine start until I switch the car off. Kind of a lucky dip with each start.

4th gear: displays fine.

I figure there's a sticky relay on the gearbox somewhere? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Thanks Snowball. I'll see if I can get FreeSSM to work over the weekend. Failing that I'll hit up Ben next time I have the car down that way.
