Hey guys. Replacing vac hoses today. Got excited with the *last* couple of lines (rushing due fading sunlight) and snapped the brittle plastic nipple off a part at the end of line 11. So now I need to replace it but no idea what it is called. Tried uklegacy and a few others but no joy. I read it's a one-way valve, some other people claim it's a purge control solenoid. Also tried opposedforces but couldn't find it there either.

Any ideas would be awesome.

Mark

It's certainly not the Purge Control Solenoid. It will be a one way valve aka "check" valve (officially). It runs to the "Supercharged Pressure Relief Valve #1 Solenoid.

Surely someone has a spare one kicking around off a TT manifold somewhere.

Yep, correct it's just a one way valve nothing fancy. You could re-tap it and put an irrigation fitting on it or try finding one at the wreckers.

Outstanding! Thanks Jimbo, thanks Tim. Time is a factor (the RSK is my daily) so I'll try an irrigation fitting over the weekend, and look for a proper part next week.

I really appreciate your help, thanks again.

PM Bosskong on here. He probably has one. His garage is just TT spares haha.

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Thanks guys. I'll try Mr Subaru this week. It seems the valve is common to EJ25 as well. Might get lucky with a new part.

Josh, thanks for the offer.

Samwise has a TT manifold he doesn't need. You just need to swap him for a 01 Bugeye STI mani :D and its gotta be RED

Did you get this sorted Mark?

Hey Jimbo,

Well, yes and no. :-) I ran short of time (and after a few hours of replacing vac lines I ran a little short of care factor) to find a jury-rig replacement, so went with 60sec epoxy to repair it to a useable state. So for now it's 'fixed', hose refitted, engine running happily.

I'm kinda sitting on the fence regarding replacement - I found a part number but it doesn't seem to be manufactured anymore and I'm not 100% on the point of putting in another 15yr old brittle plastic valve. There's still the option of a similar (brass) part on Gen3 EJ25s. That might be better. At first glance it looks like bit of a dog to remove too.

What are your thoughts?

PS. The Line 10 mod = great. The car pulls really nicely now but an NZ B4 guy mentioned 18-19psi with this mod and a Mines ECU. So yep, looking to swap my Mines ECU out for the stock one or see if I can borrow a boost gauge from a mate. I wonder if FreeSSM displays boost pressure?

If you took your vin number and thus part number in to Subaru and they couldn't get you one....I'd say they are useless.

Fair call. :-)

I was basing the no-longer-available info on Amayama not being able to supply it. Might hit up Mr Subaru after all
