So the O2 sensor on my RX is kaput. CEL comes on when cruising but goes away when i plant it/put the map back into closed loop. From what ive seen OEM are stupid money so im considering an aftermarket one. Supershit have bosch ones with the bits to splice it in for $80 bones but Ive heard splicing/cutting/wiring in different sensors can cause issues with resistances and crap that makes them not ready right. Is there any truth to that or is it just forum myths?

My first plan is to get one from a pick a part for $30 with warranty and fingers crossed it works but plan B is a new one. Dont want to be cruising to HVC with a bung O2 sensor, bye bye fuel economy.

Cheers cubts

P.S if anyone has an O2 sensor from a 25D/some other engine that would work and is known to be working PM me lol

Would make sense. Come to think of it most I've seen were for newer engines or something exotic like an STi engine

I've also used aftermarket cheapie's with never an issue, in both NA and turbo. They're a pretty simple device at the end of the day.

Get the genuine part number and put it in here.

https://partsouq.com/

I'm never buying parts from Subaru Aus again.

Id ask Joss to get it from Makin and Luby.

Fixed  :sarcastic:

I got mine from Duncan for $10 out of his old outback engine, has worked a treat for the last 6 months

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

"Good morning, the O2 sensor is $524.65 including GST and is available to order from our Sydney warehouse. It would arrive the next weekday if we order before 2pm. We would require payment before ordering."

Managed to get one from pinch a part before the seagulls stripped an RX. Seems to be working just fine. Cheers for the suggestions though
