MY LATEST MOD

i'm sure we're all familiar with the stock b4
Posted Image

not much has changed on the outside really. i've got a front lip ,bonnet protector and some 06 wrx rims. i did have some silver 01 wrx rims wrapped in pirelli p zero corsa but the wife stole those as well for her gc8.
Posted Image
not only do the rims change the whole look of the car but they clear the 4 pots as well as being a subaru item ,they did not effect my insurance. apart from those few things the car looks stock which was my main aim.under neath , that's a different story.

EXHAUST: X-Force dump with my old MRT cat back

SINGLE CONVERSION : On account of a big end bearing i decided to go single with an STI long block conversion complete with ECU ,TMIC,VF35,
after market TBE and a Greddy EBC.

GEARBOX :
hehe, pretty sure most of you know i'm running a STI 6MT with a lightweight fly wheel Exedy H/D cushion clutch and a Kartboy s/s hehe. what more is there to say
apart from having to hack at the gear boot surround to make it fit , it's all good.

SUSPENSION : Whiteline front and rear sway bars ,strut brace, ALK ,AVO end links and Noltech bushes everywhere to match.

BRAKES : powder coated 4 pots on the front and 2's on the rear from an 02 STI with braided lines and QFM 700 deg pads all round ,slotted F+R rotors.
Brake fade is for other people, nothing more to say here.

POWER :
GETTING TUNED SOON SO WATCH THIS SPACE.

Have to admit it's been a real labour of love at times with some big set backs along the way like 5mt shatting it'self and a big end bearing but
now i've ended up with my perfect car.

a car that

: looks **** hot
: appears pretty stock ( don;t want any extra attention)
: has got plenty of go with minimal lag ( f***ing hate lag)
: turns like it's on rails and stops dead when you ask it to.
: has a fantastic sound that won't give me a canary
: isn't as common as commodores and WRX's

can't ask for much more than that really .

Nothing left to break .

It looks great mate. You'll really notice the sway bars when you do them. If you think it handles well now, you'll be blown away after. As for the Tek3, meh. You could always do it yourself :P. (See Jeffs thread.)

have to admit when using primary only for day to day driving the shifts are a little earlier , but sweet bugger all really. cruising on the freeway is just the same though. i know putting a 6mt in doesn't give you more killers wasps but it sure as hell feels like it when you give her some stick cause the raios are a touch shorter. now i've got a gear for evey situation, no more hesitation trying to decide which gear to use.

sounds good cracka, where did you get it done and rough cost (if you dont mind spilling) just i case i need to get mine done down the track, cant wait to see the results of the tune

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

well got the beast up and running single ej207 with a vf35 and a TBE. heaps more power but at a cost of LAG and heaps of it
i'm running a greddy EBC and it's had a tune.
dyno graph

got some extractors and a bigger TMIC on the way but if i can't improve on the bottom end factor i may have made a big mistake going single.
for daily driving my old TT won hands down. hopefully i can get some more out of it when the new parts arrive and another tune.

dude. best thing i've ever done is gone single. my GT2860R spools like a crazy mofo. bigger TMIC will only create more lag (more space inside...) go FMIC! VF35 should be good for what you need it for, but if you can source a VF34 (ball bearing turbo) you should start spooling sooner. Failing that, a TD0516G large should do the trick.

first time i heard that about bigger TMIC and the VF35 is supposed to spool earlier than the 34 but runs out of puff up the top end which i've noticed as well. def won't be going FMIC , fundage is hard enough to come but these days as it is lol

VF35 is a P16 Alex and as such should be on song well before 3.5k and as Crack said run out of puff sooner. I would have thought it would come on line around the same time as the disco spud you have. Have you spoken to the shop that did it for you Cracka? BTW where is your old B4 engine? :)

Picked up this monster from Hyperflow a while back and only just got a chance to try it on. It's for a Bug eye STI engine which is
what i have since i did a big end bearing. I knew it would match up tp the mounts but unsure if it would fit under the bonet , and it didn't.
I nearly cried when i lowered the lid and it just sat there resting on the I/C it's that big.

Posted Image

I had to bend the mount brackets down and do a little work to the bonet but i finally managed to get it in, even if it does rub on the strut brace.

Posted Image

I honestly didn'y expect it to make a difference without a tune but to my suprise it really did. It has more response off boost
and runs further into the rev range once boost comes on.I even had to turn the boost controller down a tad as it normally sits
on 18-18.5 but it was nearly hitting 20 psi. Even more suprising is the induction noise, was just audible before but now sound like both my kids with a runny nose lol.
Time for a retune and maybe , just maybe a new turbo. AVO 400s perhaps. ,,,,,

glad you got it sorted and sitting nicely (as possible) How are you finding the single turbo now?

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

i'd get that tuned if i were you.. you are complaining about how it isn't as good as before and you are just bolting on mods and driving it? GD ecu's don't work that way like the earlier ones they need to be tuned for just about any modifications done...
