Unlimited internet is pretty cool. Don't have to worry about caps when watching movies on Netflix everynight or having Pandora running all weekend, smashing out tunes, to watch youtube when nothing else to do.

 

Still, I haven't gone over 100gb a month yet, think the highest used was 86gb

I have unlimited and fetch tv for $90 on month to month with Optus, see all these deals with TPG, Dodo and iinet for cheaper, but then they quote massive startup costs or minimum 6 term contracts. We paid nothing for startup and nothing for modem and DVR.

 

 

How good is chromecast though, fucken making my life so easy.

I only got unlimited last month but before that I was on 500gb but it was 250 on and 250 off peak. Don't think I ever went over it though.

But now with Netflix the unlimited is a good idea.

Yeah I have the same thing, with free calls and stuff as well, plus that Galaxy Tablet, which is sitting in my drawer, that i should start using on the trains instead of my giant laptop, to watch shows. Lol!

 

Chromecast is good, but since I have a smart TV, I can just screenshare youtube and netflix from my mobile device to the TV

My TV is smart-ish, it's a Bravia but too old to have wifi, you have to wire it in manually, which will be easy when modem moves to TV unit.

chromecast is good for some things but it's otherwise not a great product. I'm about ready to give mine away.

It's good for me as I stream my lectures from my laptop and then I can still use my laptop to write notes/essay while lecture still streams. For $50 it does a pretty good job at being a multi-application device, given cables can cost $20 or more. It's redundant otherwise for me as I have the DVR and don't use Netflix, but sometimes stream with Popcorn Time.

Telstra cable with 500gb for 79 a month. Fast as well, I generally get about 40-50mb/s speed

Nah, I like the galaxy Tablet 10.1, I should use it, would be useful. Wife has the galaxy note 8.0 and thats all she uses, never goes on the laptop she has.

 

I also have an old Gen 1 Nexus 7 somewhere, collecting dust. Thought about mounting it in the car. But only thought about it and CBF.
