I hate telling stories.

Blah blah blah. Had the ol' Beefwhore for 4 months after purchasing it off Will. Was a fantastic machine and I really love my Gen 3's, however something in me just wasn't satisfied.

I guess you could call it a "life crisis" haha, but I needed something that was just a bucket of fun and made no sense.

I started looking for different cars on carsales/gumtree and I just couldn't decide. Then last week my mate put his Evo up for sale and I jokingly messaged him "Want to swap?" .... and he took it serious.

Lo and behold, enter my dark side of the moon.

2001 Evolution VII GSR

Has all your usual JDM goodies:

- Rear wiper

- Folding mirrors

- Auto windows all round

- Factory sunroof

As well as a few mods and upgrades done by the previous owner.

ENGINE/DRIVELINE:

  • 8 MR turbo hi-flowed
  • BC 264 cams
  • Bosch 1000cc injectors
  • 3"TBE - Invidia dump + Meek Automotive catback
  • 8 MR transfer case
  • Short shift kit
  • E85 tune @ 240kwatw

WHEELS/BRAKES/SUSPENSION:

  • Speedline Something w/ semi slick tyres :P

EXTERIOR/COSMETICS:

  • Carbon boot
  • Carbon engine cover
  • Carbon pods
  • Carbon pillar highlights
  • Carbon exhaust thing
  • Carbon eyelids
  • Weather shields
  • 8 MR taillights

INTERIOR/ICE/GAUGES:

  • HKS boost controller
  • Apexi turbo timer

Immediate plan is to get some nice wheels with road tyres and swap the boot back to stock, I'm not a massive carbon fan so will try and tone most of it down. Also take some foam out of the seat bolstering as they're designed for people not like me.

Then, I'll most likely look in to getting a flex tune so I can actually drive the thing normally.

Then... I'm not too sure really.. I have no idea how these things work.

Photos for your viewing pleasure - I'll take more when can be bothered.

Oh so it was a swap, makes more sense.

But still, you and your mate just swapped for turbo AWD 4 door sedans of similar age.

I guess a change is as good as a holiday.

Are you going to be husband wife swapping later in life Sam...?

As stated previously, very envious of this, you have me searching for motorcycles in revolt.

Say you have 2 twin children.

Evo is the one that draws on all the walls and think it's funny when you step on the lego pieces.

Should buy one. ;)

Evo IX wagon.... I wish I had $40k.

Yeah, as much as some guys pull impressive figures from their B4's, I just can't take it seriously, it looks just like my mum's RX, and that thing is slow.

Evo looks fast standing still.

People compare GTi to WRX, nope not even close, the Evo is the only car in my opinion that can hold a candle to the same heritage as the WRX.

When you replace the boot are you getting a hectic spoiler or keeping it wingless?

Looks cool otherwise

Nice pick up. Should look awesome with some new wheels and a white boot.

I am pretty jealous of this, I love Evo's.

Hmm, sevens always looked better to me than the VIII or IX. Even better if kept wingless...

Sweet ride, Evo's are fun. Made better by it being a straight swap, so that's awesome.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

Going stock boot with stock wing.

Still going for the minimalist approach. Aesthetics will be mainly wheels and lowered.
Possibly a front lip.

Nice buy Sam. I'm not a fan of all the carbon stuff either.

Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille

Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

spray the carbon boot white ?

Love the ricer number plate.

Get rid of the orange (lights, wheels) and it'll look mean and clean.

Nice swap, Indeed!

How much boost is it running to get to that sort of power?

Very nice looking evo,

The wheel color is not my bag, but it's not my car !

Nice job with the swap.

Looks better with boot and wing.

I don't mind wheel colour.
